At Island Karate we hold the belief that learning Karate should be as enjoyable as possible, and open to many different types of people, young and old.

Safety is paramount to us so we have a high ratio of instructors to students, particularly for junior classes. All full instructors at Island Karate are CRB checked and registered and insured with NAKMAS, as both instructors and grading examiners.

At Island Karate we use - Denjo Goshin Ryu Karate Jitsu – which consists of traditional Karate training, and self defence techniques from the martial art of Jujitsu. Taught in a friendly but disciplined environment by senior instructors Den Johnson and Anne Windebank.

We also have a number of assistant instructors, particularly to help in the Junior classes – they are always under the supervision and instruction of the main teachers.

Island Karate is run by Senior Instructor Den Johnson and Anne Windebank who have a wealth of experience between them teaching Karate to both Adults and Children from 4 years of age.

Each class is organised according to age and experience to ensure that each student learns at his/her own level.

Adult and Children's classes run each week at various locations on Hayling Island and also at Port Solent.
